Mapleton is about five minutes from our Springville office, and it’s a city of big lots, big garages, and a bench that takes wind. We carry the springs sized for wide and insulated doors, and same day service is realistic for most calls that come in before early afternoon.
We repair springs, cables, rollers, and openers on every brand, replace single panels matched to the door, service shop and outbuilding doors, and install new doors when a repair no longer makes sense. The quote comes before the work, and we don’t turn a spring call into a new door pitch.
Mapleton splits into the bench under Maple Mountain and the flatter ground toward Springville and Spanish Fork, and the doors are different on each.
The bench (1990s, 2010s). Larger custom and semi custom homes with three- and four car garages, wide insulated doors, and carriage style product. Weight is the whole story: a wide insulated door needs springs wound for its weight and an opener rated for it, and the most common thing we find up here is a previous repair that put standard springs on a heavy door. The bench also sits under the mouth of Maple Canyon, and the downslope wind bows wide doors that aren’t braced. Wide doors up here get horizontal struts as a rule.
The older town and the farm lots. Mapleton’s original housing along Main Street and Maple Street sits on large lots, many with a detached shop or barn door on commercial style hardware. Attached doors are on their second or third spring set with original openers at the end of their life. We can do the house door and the shop door in one visit.
The newer subdivisions (2010s onward). Growth on the west and north sides toward Springville is builder grade doors with standard cycle springs now reaching the seven to ten year failure window. When one house on the street breaks a spring, the neighbors follow.
