Our Sandy office is at Union Square, 9400 South and 700 East, which puts a technician a short drive from almost any street in the city, from the older homes near Historic Sandy to the custom homes up in the east foothills. Same day service in Sandy is the normal case, not the exception: most calls that come in before early afternoon get a truck the same day, and we give you the actual window.
We repair springs, cables, rollers, and openers on every brand, replace single dented panels matched to the original door, and install new doors when a repair no longer makes sense. The quote comes before the work, and we don’t turn a spring call into a new door pitch.
We handle everything from noisy doors to full replacements. Our Sandy garage door services include:
Our techs have seen all of it. With years of training and experience, they are qualified, honest, and can guide you to make the best decision for your repair.
The My Guy Brand is a home services brand that is locally owned and operated with over 15 years of taking care of our Utah neighbors.
We're licensed, background checked, and bonded. We back up our work and repairs. So our customers have peace of mind when they choose us.
✔ Upfront, Honest Pricing: The price is quoted before the work starts. No add ons, no surprises.
✔ Same Day Service: Our office is at Union Square, so a truck is already in town.
✔ Licensed, Bonded, Background Checked: Utah DOPL Contractor License 13707868-5501 (S220), active through 2027.
✔ We Know Your Door: A 1970s rambler off 700 East, a custom door in Pepperwood, and a townhome in The Heights at Quarry Bend each fail differently, and we service all three every week.
✔ Repair It Forward: A portion of every repair helps a local family in need.
Free service call with any repair ($79 value). $75 off a new opener. $400 off a new garage door. Up to $80 off spring replacement ($35 for one spring, $80 for a pair). One offer per visit, mention it when you book, and 0% financing is available for qualified applicants.
Sandy went from about 6,400 people in 1970 to more than 52,000 in 1980, and roughly a third of the homes standing today were built in that one decade. That boom, plus the foothill neighborhoods that came after it, shapes almost every call we run here.
The 1970s and 1980s ramblers and split levels. Most of central and east Sandy between State Street and 1300 East was built in this window. Many of these doors still run on extension springs along the tracks, some with the original safety cables missing, and the openers are often the second or third on the house. We see worn nylon rollers, cracked bottom sections, and tracks pulled loose from 40 year old jambs. The fix is usually a conversion to torsion springs and new rollers and cables in one visit, which quiets and balances the door for a fraction of a new one.
Historic Sandy. The oldest homes, around 8600 South and Main Street, often have single car or detached garages with limited headroom. A standard trolley opener may not fit, and a wall mount opener beside the door is often the cleaner answer.
The east foothills. Pepperwood, a guard gated community of about 600 custom homes, and the neighborhoods around Alta Canyon, Bell Canyon, and Willow Creek have heavier doors: wood overlays, carriage styles, and oversized insulated doors. These need springs wound for the actual door weight and openers rated for it. The most common problem we find up here is a past repair that put standard springs on a heavy door. Homes near the canyon mouths also get more snow, and a bottom seal frozen to the slab will strip an opener’s gears if you keep pressing the button.
Newer infill and townhomes. Communities like Ivory’s Pepperwood View and Paradise Valley and Garbett’s townhomes at The Heights at Quarry Bend have HOA color and style rules. We match single panels to the builder’s spec so a dented section doesn’t mean a new door.

What an exceptional experience we had with My Guy Garage Door Repair! One of the springs on our garage suddenly broke and when we called, they were able to send a truck with 2 guys that same afternoon. Austin quickly assessed our entire door, explained thoroughly what was needed and gave an excellent quote. He and his trainee had the repairs done within a short time. They provided amazing customer service with an 8 year warranty included. We highly recommend this company!Posted on Google![]()

We had Waylon come over this morning to help fix our garage door after the spring broke. He did a phenomenal job. I really appreciated that he gave us options and explained the pros and cons of the options. He also evaluated our whole garage door, which I really appreciated so we knew what other things were wrong with it. He also gave us a heads up on things that may need to be fixed in the near future. Waylon was friendly, helpful, and seemed very honest with the cost of the repairs. We would definitely recommend to a friend!Posted on Google![]()

It depends on what failed and on the door. A spring on a single car steel door and a spring on a heavy custom door are different jobs. We quote it on site before any work starts, and the service call is free when you go ahead with the repair.
Our office is at Union Square on 700 East. Most calls before early afternoon get a technician the same day, east bench included.
Usually, yes, if the extension springs are due anyway. Torsion springs last longer, run smoother, and don’t whip loose when they break. We’ll quote both options so you can decide.
Stop pressing the button. Pull the red release cord, then free the bottom seal with warm water or a plastic scraper. If the opener has been straining against it, call us to check the gears and the force settings.
