We serve Salt Lake City from our Sandy office at Union Square, up I-15. Downtown and the east side are a straight run, and most calls that come in before early afternoon get a technician the same day. We’ll give you the actual window when you book.
We repair springs, cables, rollers, and openers on every brand, fit openers to old detached and under house garages, replace single panels, and build new doors to odd sized openings. The quote comes before the work, and we don’t turn a spring call into a new door pitch.
We handle everything from noisy doors to full replacements. Our Salt Lake City garage door services include:
Our techs have seen all of it. With years of training and experience, they are qualified, honest, and can guide you to make the best decision for your repair.

Salt Lake City’s median home was built in 1965, and about a quarter of the city’s houses predate 1940. That makes its garages the oldest and most varied in the valley, and it means a lot of the doors we work on here were built for cars, and openers, that didn’t exist yet.
The Avenues and Federal Heights. Most Avenues homes went up between about 1880 and 1920 on small blocks and narrow streets that get steep toward the foothills. Garages are often detached, set at the back of the lot or off an alley, with tight driveways and little headroom. Many were built for swing or tilt up doors. We fit sectional doors to nonstandard openings and use wall mount openers where a ceiling unit won’t fit.
Yalecrest and the East Bench. Yalecrest was platted in 22 subdivisions between 1910 and 1938, mostly Tudor and English cottage homes. Garages from that era are usually detached at the rear, and on the steepest lots some were built underneath the house. Those under house garages have low headroom and often damp slabs, which rust bottom sections and hardware.
Rose Park and Glendale (late 1940s and 1950s). Rose Park was built for returning veterans, and Glendale’s first big subdivisions went up between 1947 and 1952. These brick homes often have single car garages or enclosed carports, extension springs, and openers that predate the 1993 safety sensor rule. A torsion conversion and a new opener fix most of it.
Wind. In the September 2020 windstorm Salt Lake City recorded gusts of 91 mph, with 112 mph at the University of Utah. The Avenues took roof and window damage, and the city lost about 1,000 trees. East side doors near the canyon mouths take that wind head on, and horizontal struts keep a door from bowing and popping its rollers.
Newer townhomes and condos. The new construction across the city has tuck under garages with HOA rules. Those calls are sensors, keypads, and matched panels.

What an exceptional experience we had with My Guy Garage Door Repair! One of the springs on our garage suddenly broke and when we called, they were able to send a truck with 2 guys that same afternoon. Austin quickly assessed our entire door, explained thoroughly what was needed and gave an excellent quote. He and his trainee had the repairs done within a short time. They provided amazing customer service with an 8 year warranty included. We highly recommend this company!Posted on Google![]()

We had Waylon come over this morning to help fix our garage door after the spring broke. He did a phenomenal job. I really appreciated that he gave us options and explained the pros and cons of the options. He also evaluated our whole garage door, which I really appreciated so we knew what other things were wrong with it. He also gave us a heads up on things that may need to be fixed in the near future. Waylon was friendly, helpful, and seemed very honest with the cost of the repairs. We would definitely recommend to a friend!Posted on Google![]()

It depends on what failed and on the door. We quote it on site before any work starts, and the service call is free when you go ahead with the repair.

Yes. Older Salt Lake garages often have odd sized openings. We measure and order a sectional door built to fit, rather than forcing a standard size.
Usually. A wall mount opener sits beside the door and needs very little headroom. We check the framing before we mount anything.
If it bowed in the middle, the rollers and top section took the stress. We can check it and add horizontal struts so it holds up next time.
